Jake Grohs

Jake

Jake Grohs is the Assistant Director for Student Engagement Programs. After finishing degrees (BS, MS) in Engineering Science and Mechanics here at VT, he joined the Center for Student Engagement and Community Partnerships to help support students as they engage with communities locally, nationally, and globally. Jake is a past RLC Alum – both as a freshman and for two years as an RLC RA. His love for service/leadership work comes from years of leading trips with his wife, Courtney, to the Dominican Republic through the YMCA at VT’s Student Programs. Aside from that, Jake (and Courtney) now spend their time renovating a 1940’s home, playing with their 2 crazy dogs, running the Huckleberry trail, and “learn-as-you-go” gardening. Latest “learn-as-you-go” lesson? When you are on travel for a week and ship the dogs off to “Nanna’s house,” the deer move in for the kill. Poor veggies never knew what hit them…
